Athens - The EU's Luxembourg presidency said yesterday the divided island of Cyprus would begin EU entry talks as scheduled early next year. Luxembourg's Foreign Minister, Mr Jacques Poos, after meeting the Greek Prime Minister, Mr Costas Simitis, said there was no change in the EU timetable for Cyprus. Talks between Greek-Cypriots and Turkish-Cypriots broke down earlier this month over the EU plans.
