Plane lands after bomb warning

A detailed search was due to be conducted at 7 a.m. today of an Air France Airbus 340 which made an emergency landing at Shannon Airport shortly before 5.30 p.m. yesterday.

It had been about 750 miles west of the Irish coast on a direct flight from Paris to Mexico when the pilot received a bomb alert message.
