A man was questioned tonight about the murder of a woman at her home in Co Armagh.

He was interviewed by police as he recovered from suspected stab wounds.

The body of Ms Sheila McStay (39) was discovered at the house on Tarry Lane in Lurgan.

Detectives probing the killing confirmed they were following a definite line of inquiry. A sectarian motive was ruled out.

Ms McStay, whose body was discovered yesterday, had lived in the house since childhood, neighbours said.

As a post mortem examination was carried out, police were attempting to contact the dead woman's sister in England.
