The Police Service of Northern Ireland are investigating the discovery of a pipe bomb under a child's trampoline at a house in Co Armagh.

The device was found under a child's trampoline in the front garden of a house in Lurgan last night.

A number of houses had to be evacuated following the discovery of the device shortly before 1am.

The PSNI said police and fire service personnel were called to a car fire at Princeton Avenue in the town when officers discovered the pipe bomb.

The device was made safe and removed from the scene for examination.

Detectives in Lurgan are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.
