Several hundred people are expected to make their way this morning to Eason's bookshop on O'Connell Street, Dublin, where Victoria Beckham will be signing copies of her autobiography, Learning to Fly.

The autobiography, which was released last week, went into the best-seller list at number three in the UK and number two in Ireland, just behind Peter Sheridan's best-seller Forty Four.

Sales of the book, which costs £22.09, have varied from shop to shop - some shops have experienced huge interest with others selling only one or two copies in the past week.

"It's in the window but it's just not selling. We have it on discount but it is still quite expensive and that can put people off, but maybe they think it's just a load of rubbish," said a spokesman for Dubray Books.

Former fellow band member Geri Haliwell's book If Only sold over a quarter of a million copies internationally last year.

A spokesman for Eason's said the shop was expecting a crowd of several hundred, but did not think it would match the turnout for her husband, David Beckham, who promoted his autobiography, entitled David Beckham, last year.

Crowds anxious to see the star have been advised to begin queueing from lunchtime at the latest.

Several diehard fans are expected to start gathering from around 9 a.m. for the signing, which will take place from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. The store is confident that Ms Beckham will remain until all those queueing get a signed copy.
