Reddaway named as new British ambassador

David Reddaway has been appointed as Britain's new ambassador to Ireland.

David Reddaway has been appointed as Britain's new ambassador to Ireland.

Mr Reddaway (53), who succeeds Stewart Eldon, will take up his post by September this year and will also act the British Permanent Representative on the North Atlantic Council.

He currently serves as the High Commissioner to Ottawa and in 2002 was Britain's Special Representative for Afghanistan.
