Teddy Sheringham has indicated he is ready to accept a new 12-month contract at Old Trafford.
The 35-year-old Manchester United striker was believed to be holding out for a two-year deal. But it now seems Sheringham will continue to battle for a first-team place at United.
"A 12-month deal keeps me quite happy because if I am not in the team and not playing I wouldn't want to be here," Sheringham told the Manchester Evening News.
"A year-to-year situation for me at my age is quite right. You have to take things as they come when you get to my age. I am quite happy with things on that score."
