A shot was fired tonight as two men robbed a hotel in Belfast city centre.

A shot was fired tonight as two men robbed a hotel in Belfast city centre.

Police said the suspects threatened staff at the Days Hotel on Hope Street with a firearm and ordered them to hand over cash.

No one was injured during the raid which happened near the loyalist Sandy Row around 7pm.

The pair escaped in a waiting red car, possibly a Nissan, with an undisclosed sum of money.
