Gardaí have said the man whose skull was found in a back garden of a suburban Dublin home yesterday had been dead for around a century.
Following examination of the skull by the State Pathologist's Office today, gardaí said it was of an unidentified man aged between 25 and 40.
He is understood to have died of natural causes approximately 100 years ago.
There was no explanation given as to how the skull ended up buried in the back garden of a house in Orlagh Grove Estate, Knocklyon, where it was discovered yesterday afternoon.
