Speedboat driver rescued on Dublin Bay

A man was rescued last night after a speedboat got into difficulties on Dublin Bay.

A man was rescued last night after a speedboat got into difficulties on Dublin Bay.

Dublin Coastguard dispatched the Anna Liviaafter the alarm was raised at around 9pm.

The driver was brought ashore around 40 minutes later.

A RNLI spokesman said: "The sole occupant of the 20-foot speedboat called for assistance when his recently serviced engine broke down.

He was wearing a lifejacket and used his anchor to prevent drift towards the rocky shore."
