Sun Microsystems has renewed its high-end storage agreement with Hitachi Data Systems to extend the reselling partnership until 2006.
Sun, which has a major software development and research centre in Dublin, and Hitachi will extend their collaboration for hardware, software and services and will co-operate on sales support, marketing and customer support services.
Mr Mark Canepa, executive vice-president of Sun Network Storage, said the partnership was a "win" for Sun, HDS and Sun customers.
Hewlett-Packard (HP) also recently renewed its deal with Hitachi. Both HP and Sun rely on Hitachi's Lighting system to compete against storage giants such as IBM.
