An elderly couple and their nephew were tied up and beaten in a robbery in Keady, Co Armagh last night.
An RUC spokeswoman said that two men forced their way into the house at Kinelowen Street at around 10 p.m. armed with a pickaxe handle, a knife and a hammer.
They then tied up the occupants, a 50-year-old man and his aged aunt, in a bedroom and demanded money with threats. The man was severely beaten around the face, legs and stomach.
The third victim, the man's uncle, arrived home during the attack and was also tied up and threatened, the RUC said.
