London - A senior detective who has headed a 13-year investigation into the disappearance of a woman estate agent has been appointed to lead the hunt for the murderer of Jill Dando.

Det Chief Supt Brian Edwards has been made investigating officer in overall charge of the Dando case in a bid to beef up the murder hunt that has so far drawn a blank. Mr Edwards is still trying to solve the case of Ms Suzy Lamplugh, a 25-year-old estate agent who vanished in west London in July 1986 after leaving her office to meet a client.
