A special Tridentine Latin Mass will be celebrated in the Augustinian church in Limerick today at 5 p.m. It is first time in almost 30 years that the chanted high Mass, where the priest is accompanied by a deacon and sub-deacon, has been celebrated.
The celebrant will be Father Thomas Fritschen of the Fraternity of St Peter, an order set up by the Pope in 1988 to cater for Catholics who prefer the Tridentine rite.
