Contracts and agreements totalling over €60 millon were concluded by Irish firms during an Enterprise Ireland-led trade mission to the US this week.

A number of Enterprise Ireland client companies accompanied Taoiseach Brian Cowen on  the trip to Silicon Valley and Washington DC.

Announcing the deals today,  the Taoiseach said the US is a critical market for Irish exporters, with over 600 Irish companies exporting there and the US accounting for over 20 per cent of total exports from Ireland.

Kilkenny-based Taxback.com confirmed it is expand services into the US in a move which is believed to be worth over €20million to the firm.

Elsewhere, Aspen Connect, said it is to create an additional 15 jobs in Kerry on the back of contracts it has won in the US with its Business Management products for the default property market.

Limerick-based Advanced Innovations (AI) announced a new partnership deal valued at €7.2 million with the wireless  service provider Open Mobile  while Galway-based Stateside Solutions has confirmed a new partnership with Atrium Staffing.

The companies are to join forces to develop a division specialising in healthcare staffing.
