A 68 year old Catholic woman whose home was damaged in an apparent sectarian attack in the Waterside area of Derry early yesterday morning said she will not be forced out of her home.

Ms Rennie McLaughlin, of Curlew Way in the Shearwater estate, lives just yards from the homes of two other Catholic families which were petrol bombed earlier this month.

"I've been living here for 25 years and they won't force me out," she said. "A brick was thrown through my window and all I can say is thank God it wasn't a petrol bomb. I was singled out by someone in the estate because I'm a Catholic.

"We are all living in fear at the moment. I've great neighbours, Catholics and Protestants, and they're all disgusted.

"I feel sorry for people who have to resort to this type of thing. They don't scare me," she said.
