The White Stripes have cancelled their appearance at this weekend's Witnness festival after lead singer and guitar player Jack White broke a finger in a car crash.
White broke his left index finger in a car accident in his home town of Detroit on Wednesday.
The band were due to play both Witnness in Kildare and this weekend's T In The Park festival in Scotland.
The White Stripes - noted for their Iggy Pop-inspired heavy guitar tunes - have been hailed as the saviours of rock and roll since they were signed to XL records in 2001.
