P.J. Flaherty
An article in the edition of September 14th, concerning a licence renewal for a hotel on Inis Mór, stated that the operating company for the hotel is owned by P.J. Flaherty. Mr Flaherty is a minority shareholder in the company, is not an officer of it and has no role in running the hotel.
The heading over an article in yesterday’s edition, concerning Cardinal Newman, stated that he was the first rector of UCD. In fact, he was the first rector of the Catholic University of Ireland which was dissolved when the National University of Ireland (NUI) was established as a multi-denominational university. UCD is the Dublin college of the NUI.
