A chara, – Oliver Sears asserts that “the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement calls for the end of the State of Israel. That is an incitement to hatred, by definition” (Letters, December 28th).
The official website of the BDS movement defines BDS as follows: “Inspired by the South African anti-apartheid movement, the BDS call urges action to pressure Israel to comply with international law.”
Note that this definition specifically instances “Israel” as the state on which pressure is to be exerted. Nowhere does it “call ... for the end of the State of Israel”. – Yours, etc,
