Viewing peaked as 347,000 witness Meath make history as they defeated Dublin

Almost 600,000 viewers tuned in to TG4 to watch Sunday’s All-Ireland women’s final triple-header at Croke Park.

Viewing peaked at 5.36pm as 347,00 witnessed a slice of history, as Meath beat Dublin to win their first ever senior title - on their first ever final appearance.

Eamonn Murray’s side stunned five-in-a-row chasing Dublin, winning 1-11 to 0-12 after a thrilling showpiece at HQ.

Earlier in the day Wicklow had beaten Antrim 2-17 to 1-9 to secure the junior title before Westmeath routed Wexford 4-19 to 0-6 to claim intermediate glory.

An average audience of 226,000 watched Meath’s win over Dublin - a 50,000 increase on the 2020 senior final which was played just before Christmas. The feature match took a 30 per cent of the overall viewing share.
