The second round of the Mercedes-Benz Championship was put back by almost two hours today because of driving rain and strong winds in Hawaii.
Weather-permitting, play will begin at 11pm Irish time with a two-tee start for the 34-strong field at the Kalapua Resort's Plantation Course.
Former world number one Vijay Singh and South Korea's K.J. Choi were among five players tied for the lead after shooting four-under-par 69s in Thursday's opening round.
Singh and Choi set the pace in the PGA Tour's season-opening event with Canadian Stephen Ames and Americans Brett Wetterich and Will MacKenzie as gusting trade winds buffeted the Hawaiian venue.
"I've been here seven or eight times and this is probably the gustiest it's ever been," Fijian Singh told reporters after mixing six birdies with two bogeys.
"I was telling (playing partner) Ben Curtis as we came up the ninth hole: 'If we had to play golf in this weather (all the time), I think I'd quit'."
Conditions are expected to remain cloudy and breezy for the rest of the day with scattered thunderstorms in the afternoon. The weekend forecast predicts mainly cloudy weather with occasional rain showers.
