Design & Crafts Council Ireland (DCCI) has launched its annual Made Local campaign with the aid of a new brand ambassador: Irish singer, songwriter and musician Lyra.
The council said Made Local, which is now in its fourth year, aimed to highlight “the originality, quality and value” of Irish designed and craft-made products, and was intended as a reminder to consumers ahead of the key Christmas season that buying locally-produced, well-crafted products was a “more meaningful, sustainable and impactful” way to shop.
Some 1,328 DCCI designers and makers and 351 retailers took part in Made Local in 2022, with 83 per cent reporting a positive impact from the campaign.
