A Tyrone food firm, which is one of the North’s largest manufacturers of sauces, is hoping a new £500,000 investment project will help whet the appetite of potential customers in the South and in Britain for its products.
Dragon Brand Foods, which manufactures a range of sauces including curry and gravy for both the retail and the food service sectors, plans to build a 7,500 square factory, in Strabane Business Park.
The company also intends to develop a range of free-from sauces, dips and condiments and create four research and development jobs.
Dragon Brand Foods has earmarked £500,000 for its expansion project which is being backed by Invest NI with a financial support package totalling nearly £154,000.
Paul McGuigan, a director of Dragon Brand Foods said: “Our strategy is to pursue growth through investing in new products and innovation.
“Building work for our new factory has already commenced and we look forward to growing our workforce to help us deliver valuable new contracts, particularly in the UK and ROI markets.”
