Central Bank appoints Ed Sibley as a new director

Mr Sibley to replace Sharon Donnery as director of credit institutions supervision

The Central Bank has announced the appointment of Ed Sibley as its new director of credit institutions supervision.

He replaces Sharon Donnery, who was recently appointed deputy governor.

Mr Sibley is currenty head of the supervisory section of banking supervision, a role he has held for more than three years.

Prior to joining the Central Bank, he worked for the Financial Services Authority in the UK. He has also held a number of roles with both Bank of Ireland and PwC.

Mr Sibley holds an MBA from Smurfit Business School as well as a BA in Economics.

Welcoming his appointment, deputy governor of financial regulation Cyril Roux, said Mr Sibley bring considerable experience and knowledge to the role.
