Intel, the world's largest semiconductor maker which employs 3,200 people in Leixlip, warned yesterday that first-quarter revenues would decline about 25 per cent from fourth-quarter revenues of $8.7 billion (€9.3 billion), far lower than its previous estimate for a 15 per cent decline. However, it saw global demand for chips recovering in the second-half of this year after a disappointing first-quarter.
