The Nasdaq may have lost over 50 per cent of its value over the past year, but it seems the folks at the technology company-laden exchange are thinking ahead to all eventualities. Just in case the shares business doesn't go all that well, they've got an online store (has no one told them that B2C is a recipe for disaster?!)
And as you might expect, the items aren't cheap. Nasdaq-logoed fleeces run at $40 (no doubt useful for protecting the pelts of share traders from the icy winds of economic change). "Elegant and under stated" Nasdaq "digital globe" cufflinks are $80, while silk braces printed with patterns of computer circuits and Nasdaq ticker company names cost $70.
The reversible bull and bear puppet is tempting, although it might be growling a lot these days. And surely no child is too young or too modest to wear the Nasdaq "Future Investor" Tshirt. According to the store website: "You can look like a millionaire when you wear official Nasdaq apparel." A shame then that "look" may well be the operative word, especially if you have been a Nasdaq devotee with your investments.
