The Kardashians, the world's most "famous for being famous" celebrity family, have pulled out of a trip to Ireland next month.
The family were due to stay in the newly renovated Bellingham Castle in Co Louth on October 1st to film for their show Keeping Up with the Kardashians.
The family’s agents contacted the castle owners three weeks ago about filming there, but then said this morning they were postponing the visit. They did not give a reason.
The castle's co-manager Ciara Carolan said they were "devastated" about the postponement as they hoped to showcase the 22 bedroom castle to the upmarket American visitor.
The castle is not yet open to the public as it still undergoing renovation.
Five of the family and 13 crew were due to stay at the castle on October 1st. No names were given but Ms Carolan said did not include the famous member of the family Kim Kardashian, "the only one I recognise", who had a baby three months ago with the rapper Kanye West. She has largely been a recluse since giving birth.
It would most likely have included Scott Disick, the long-term partner of Kourtney Kardashian. He was due to play a DJ set at a nightclub in Tallaght around the same time.
“Names weren’t confirmed with us. I don’t follow the Kardashians so I’m not familiar with any one of them other than Kim,” Ms Carolan said.
The family had requested some activities for them including falconry and archery, and they also asked for a horse and carriage.
Keeping up with the Kardashians is one of the longest-running reality television shows and has made the family household names around the world. It broadcasts on the entertainment channel E!
The wedding of Kim Kardashian to basketball player Kris Humphreys was the most famous and controversial episode in the series. The marriage lasted just 72 days and was dismissed as a publicity stunt.
It has not dinted Kim Kardashian’s career and she has continued to market herself and her family successfully.
