No waste 'solid ink'

Last year Xerox introduced what it terms "solid ink" technology for a number of its laser products.

Xerox claims that its solid ink products is the most environmentally friendly way to print an image because the ink is not housed in casings, instead it's packed into an ink stick. In other words, when the machine runs out of ink, there is nothing to dispose of.

Xerox claims that for every 100,000 printed pages a solid ink printer generates 2.5kg of landfill as opposed to 70kg for the more traditional colour laser printers.
