The Queen's Inn in Dalkey, Co Dublin, which is owned by former AIB chief executive Tom Mulcahy and his family, saw profits rise last year, according to recently filed bridged accounts.

The accounts for Queens Inn Limited show it recorded profits of €226,049 for the year ending August 31st, 2016. This brought accumulated profits for the company to €940,748 from €714,699 a year earlier.

Mr Mulcahy – who along with June and Katharine Mulcahy, is named as a director of the company – acquired the popular bar and restaurant with publican Gerry O'Farrell, from Barleymoe Enterprise in 2003.
