Early-stage and high-growth companies are being urged to enter the InterTradeIreland All-island Seedcorn Business Competition, which has a prize fund of €280,000.

The competition, which aims to turn equity- raising companies into investor-ready businesses, is now in its 10th year and has engaged with more than 1,500 firms to date.

Interested companies submit their business plan and, if shortlisted, are invited to deliver an investment pitch in front of a judging panel comprising venture capitalists, business angels, industry experts and entrepreneurs.

The closing date is September 12th, but companies must first register their interest at intertradeireland.com/seedcorn.

The all-island grand final takes place on November 28th in Belfast.

“Seedcorn is more than just a competition,” said Brendan Butler, chairman of InterTradeIreland’s equity network. “Entrants can get invaluable hints, tips and advice from our experts, as well as other entrepreneurs, on how to improve their business plan and investment pitch and demonstrate to investors that their business is worth investing in.”
