American rock band Linkin Park has teamed up with Irish video technology start-up FanFootage to create a crowd sourced live video of their latest single
Until It's Gone.
Footage from various fans’ videos at Linkin Park’s recent concert in Milan was stitched together by the company to create a polished music video.
More than 1,500 concert goers filmed the song on their phones and cameras and uploaded their videos to the FanFootage crowd-sourcing platform, where they were automatically synchronised with a professional live sound recording of the performance.
FanFootage then created a video using the best of the fan uploads.
The edited video was uploaded by the band to their official Linkin Park YouTube channel last night.
FanFootage chief executive and co-founder Cathal Furey was delighted with the result.
“We have achieved two things with this collaboration with Linkin Park,” he said. “Set a new record for number of fan videos uploaded from a single live performance, and shown how fan filming can be harnessed positively by bands to create amazing video content together.”
FanFootage's video crowd-sourcing platform has already been used by artists such as Bon Jovi, Kodaline and Romeo Santos at their live shows. The company has also worked with brands such as Red Bull, Samsung and Bing.
