ASCII animated adventures with Candy Box 2

All at once this browser-based adventure game feels pointless, bizarre, irritating and yet addictive. Its charm lies in the ASCII art used to animate the characters (and ASCII art is pretty much a niche cultural movement) so it feels as though you’re playing a game from a printout circa 1989. The game centres around candies that are accumulated as seen by the onscreen counter: these can be eaten, thrown on the ground, or used to buy things and unlock more game features. With a little patience you’ll have enough candy to buy an axe, kill camels (why?) and chat to lonely but inquisitive squirrels. http://candybox2.net/
