One More Thing: Waste firm to clean up

Jimmy Martin, the chief executive of fast-growing waste-software firm AMCS, took time out from a hectic schedule of late to speak yesterday morning at the Strand Hotel in Limerick at the launch of the 2014 EY Entrepreneur Of The Year programme.

Martin was an EY finalist last year and he outlined to prospective contestants the benefits of entering for the gongs.

It’s been a busy time for Martin, who last weekend was in the United States to close the acquisition of PC Scale Technologies (PCST), based in Pennsylvania for an undisclosed sum, adding $10 million (€7.3 million) to the Limerick group’s turnover.

Martin and his team have been on a roll lately after closing a €23.5 million fundraising round led by Highland Capital Partners (Europe) last month. Notably, two of Highland's partners have joined the board of AMCS including Fergal Mullen.
