Ireland rugby international Jamie Heaslip has made his latest investment in Pointy, an Irish app that aims to help people find products in local shops.

The Dublin-based start-up is reporting significant growth since its launch in early 2015, with more than one in 10 shops in Dublin signed up to the service.

Co-founder Mark Cummins said the aim of Pointy was to provide a quick and painless way for retailers to make their products searchable online.

“It seemed strange to me that you could find things so quickly on the internet, but you might not know what is in a shop around the corner,” Mr Cummins said.
