S6 style steps up a notch for Samsung

New flagship Galaxy smartphone goes for sleeker look

The dust has settled on this year’s Mobile World Congress, and all that’s left now is to wait for those products we were promised to hit the market.

Samsung’s Galaxy S6 is coming soon, with it’s shiny metal case, 64-bit architecture and 5.1-inch screen.

That screen has been bumped up to 577 pixels per inch, which should – in theory, at least – give stunning detail.

The Android device ships with Lollipop, Android’s latest version of its software. Gone is the plastic casing, and with it the removable battery, which may be a deal breaker for some Galaxy enthusiasts. What you get instead is Gorilla Glass 4 on the front and back, and a metal alloy case.

That makes it feel a bit more premium, so what you lose in the ability to pop the battery out at will, you gain in an all-round nicer phone. There’s a 16 megapixel camera on the back, and the heart rate sensor, similar to the S5.

Samsung has also kept the fingerprint reader, which ties in with its plans for its payment platform. samsung.com/ie
