Samsung Note 8
Bringing back the Note brand after last year’s disaster might be considered a brave move by some. But Samsung had a loyal following for the Note, to the point where some Note 7 owners weren’t willing to give them up in the recall. The Galaxy Note 8 looks more than a little similar to the recently release S8+, only a little bigger. The QHD display has been bumped up to 6.3 inches, giving you more screen to play with. Samsung has kept a few features too just for its flagship phablet, including the S Pen stylus, and crammed 6 GB of RAM inside. Both cameras have optical image stabilisation to give you better images, along with larger pixel and an aperture of f1.7, with extras such as the bokeh effect – a soft out-of-focus background look – and the ability to capture images outside the frame. The battery is smaller, at 3,300mAh, but given past experience, erring on the side of caution is probably a wise move.
