Telecommunications alliance, Unisource, has signed an agreement giving it a 49 per cent stake in a planned second telecommunications operator for Hungary. The rest of the new company, which has yet to be named, will be owned by Hungarian consortium MKM-Tel.

Unisource is a consortium of Swiss Telecom, KPN of the Netherlands and Telia of Sweden. KPN and Telia are Telecom Eireann's strategic alliance partners.
