Kylie Minogue, Noah Kahan and Calvin Harris are to headline this year’s Electric Picnic festival.

Gerry Cinnamon, RAYE, Peggy Gou, NAS, Kasabian, and Faithless will also be playing the festival, along with Irish acts Kodaline, Jazzy, Kneecap, The Scratch, Damien Dempsey and the Wolfe Tones.

The Wolfe Tones return to Electric Picnic to perform on the main stage following record crowds at the Electric Arena in 2023.

Festival director Melvin Benn told RTÉ's 2fm that it was “impossible” not to bring the Wolfe Tones back and put them on the main stage after their performance in 2023.

With the revival of smash hit Murder on the Dancefloor due to the movie Saltburn, Sophie Ellis-Bextor will also be performing, alongside Hannah Laing and Skin on Skin.

In 2024, the main stage at the festival will be connected to the grid and powered by renewable energy, the first time that a festival of its kind in Ireland or Britain will install mains power to reduce its carbon footprint.

Curiously, the Wolfe Tones’s account on X, formerly Twitter, posted the line-up three minutes before the official Electric Picnic page.

Other noteworthy acts listed this year include Tom Grennan, J Hus, Teddy Swims, The Waterboys, Dean Lewis, Moncrieff, Amble, Ryan McMullan, Kojaque, and Jessie Murph.

The three headliners, Calvin Harris, Noah Kahan and Kylie Minogue are all debutants to the festival, with Kahan taking to the stage on Friday with Gerry Cinnamon, Harris and Kodaline playing the Saturday and Kylie and Raye both playing the Sunday.

American Grammy nominated singer-songwriter Noah Kahan shot to worldwide fame with his song Stick Season. He is also playing Belfast Vital on August 17th this year. He blends folk, pop and indie influences, and has previously collaborated with Hozier for a version of his single Northern Attitude.

Calvin Harris is a Scottish DJ, singer, songwriter and record producer, with numerous hits such as Feel So Close, Acceptable in the 80s, and The Girls. He has also previously collaborated with artists including Florence Welch, Ellie Goulding, Rihanna, Frank Ocean and Dua Lipa.

Kylie, the veteran Australian singer, songwriter and actor, is the highest-selling female recording actress in her home country, having sold more than 80 million records worldwide. Her hits include Spinning Around, On a Night Like This, Can’t Get You Out of My Head and more recently, Padam Padam.

Electric Picnic, which has increased its capacity to 75,000 people, takes over the Stradbally estate, in Co Laois, two weeks earlier than usual this year, running from Friday, August 16th, to Sunday, August 18th. The date change was made to accommodate the touring schedule of artists, according to organisers.

Tickets for the 2024 festival were snapped up within an hour of going on sale, with some 70,000 people thought to have attended in 2023.

Last year, headline acts included The Script, The Killers, Billie Eilish, Fred Again and Niall Horan. Other notable acts included Gavin James, Lyra, The Saw Doctors, Nell Mescal and Cian Ducrot.
