Artist: Jeff Tweedy
Genre: Singer / Songwriter
Label: dBpm Records

Jeff Tweedy has proven himself a prolific songwriter over the years, so it's a bit puzzling why the Wilco man has decided to release an album that trawls his back catalogue.

The first in an acoustic series recorded at the Chicago band's HQ The Loft, these arrangements are largely without embellishment save for the harmonica on Via Chicago.

Tweedy utilises his guitar expertly on the delicate flutter of Muzzle of Bees and Ashes of American Flags, but there is a homogeny to the tracklisting's purposeful restraint.

His voice is a little more frayed around the edges these days – I'm Always In Love is sung in a lower key – but remains eminently listenable.
