About this recording: Neil Young’s series of concerts at The Cellar Door in Washington DC in 1970 are regarded as among the most important of his career. Young cemented his reputation as one of the most important solo artists of his generation with his six-night stand at The Cellar Door.

The concerts happened against the backdrop of the break-up of the supergroup Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young and at the start of Young's solo career, shortly after he released his landmark album After the Goldrush.

During his residency, he debuted one of his best known songs, Old Man and also See the Sky About to Rain.

Live at the Cellar Door is released this Friday
