Season six of the hit series ends tonight with the longest episode in the show’s history

After mixed opinions about the current run of Game of Thrones, last week’s penultimate episode, Battle of the Bastards, resored fans’ faith in the show as the bloodiest, most spectacular thing on TV.

It also and created huge anticipation for tonight’s finale, featuring – among a host of other things – the big face-off between Cersei (Lena Headey) and the High Sparrow (Jonathan Pryce).

Tonight’s episode is titled The Winds of Winter and has a 69-minute running time – the longest episode in the show’s six-season run. HBO have not released any synopsis for the episode but the trailer is packed full of teasers.
