Two new wines from Lidl this week. They will join their core range of wines available twelve months of the year. Verdicchio is one of Italy’s most ancient varieties. This one comes from the Marche on the central-eastern coast. There it is enjoyed with all sorts of seafood dishes, including fish stews and pasta dishes.
We are familiar with Rioja but usually go for Reserva wines that have been aged in oak barrels, giving the wines sweet vanilla flavours. The Rioja below is a little different as it has not been aged in oak. Instead you get lovely pure fruit flavours.
