Survey: Do Irish people at home and abroad feel differently about recession and recovery?

Researcher from University of Chicago is carrying out a study to find out

How do Irish people at home and abroad feel about the economic recession and subsequent recovery? Do emigrants who left Ireland feel the same or differently to those who stayed in Ireland?

Irish psychologist Séamus Power is studying how people understand and make sense of the 2008 economic crisis in Europe, with a particular focus on Ireland. Over the last number of years he has conducted observational and interview work with different groups within Irish society, as well as analysing surveys and conducting experiments to test the insights from this qualitative work.

As part of the research for his PhD at the University of Chicago, he is carrying out a survey focusing on the attitudes of those who left and those who remained at home. The five-minute anonymous survey can be taken here: bit.ly/22qjKMh

Séamus will share the findings with Generation Emigration when the survey is complete.
