CLOTHES LINES:A very unusual wedding took place in Helsinki last February when a Finnish couple tied the knot in the former studio of the famous designer Alvar Aalto.
What made it special was that the whole wedding, from the venue right down to the shoes, was arranged by a team of celebrated designers following an Alvar Aalto design seminar in the city. They included Dai Fujiwara of Issey Miyake, who designed a hexagonal silk wedding dress for the bride, which was shown later in Paris, and Camper, which made shoes for both the bride and groom. The bride's shoes, consisting of two pieces of leather stitched at the back and folded over the upper, are now part of Camper's spring collection. These wooden wedged peep-toes can be found in Camper's Dublin shop at the end of next month for around €230.
