Wine masterclass in the RDS

The classes are split into three themes: Timeless Christmas Classics; a Winter Wine Walk; and finally Seasonal Party Suggestions

Bite Food Festival comes to the RDS next week, for four days of artisan food stalls, cooking demos, talks, hands-on classes and more.

As part of the event O'Briens is holding a series of wine masterclasses, led by its head of wine buying, Lynne Coyle. Coyle recently achieved her master of wine and is one of only two female masters of wine in Ireland - a considerable achievement as there are only some 340 masters of wine around the world.

The classes are split into three themes: Timeless Christmas Classics (classic wines from Champagne and Sancerre to Port, €8 per class); a Winter Wine Walk (comparing the aromas and flavour personalities of white and red grape varieties: Sauvignon Blanc versus Albarino and Syrah versus Malbec, €5 per class); and finally Seasonal Party Suggestions (with affordable, crowd pleasing essentials to take you through the season’s parties and gatherings, €5 per class). Classes run from 4pm on Thursday and Friday and from noon on Saturday and Sunday.
