Do you think you have a healthy lifestyle?
I do lately, I'm probably more conscious of it since I turned 30. My diet is pretty healthy. I'm up at 5am working on
Breakfast with Hector
on 2FM. In the past, I would have gone for a scone, but now it's always porridge. The early start isn't too bad diet-wise.
How often do you exercise?
I exercise a lot at the moment, probably five or six days a week. I've just finished a course in exercise, health and fitness where I was teaching and doing classes so I've been pretty active. For the past few years, I've been into running. I've only just started to realise the benefits of doing other things. I've taken up Bikram yoga and Pilates and I got a bike. I'm doing the women's mini marathon in June.
Do you get your
five a day?
I do, but I probably eat more fruit than veg. It's easy to eat an apple or a banana at the desk, but I have to make a conscious effort to put veg into my cooking. I'm going to start doing that.
Do you worry?
I do, but I'm not a big worrier. Work doesn't worry me too much because it's just so fun. I suppose I worry about the day-to-day things like bills, family and health, but nothing major.
What do you do to relax?
I'm a huge movie fan so I go to the cinema whenever I can. I like walking out in Clontarf or in Sligo, where I'm from, or I enjoy hanging out with friends over coffee. I'm also a big TV fan – I'm just getting to the end of
Breaking Bad
and I love the old Hitchcock movies.
What's your unhealthiest habit?
Over indulgence on chocolate when I get my hands on it. I love liquorice all sorts and pick-and-mix too. I don't smoke. I drink wine occasionally but as I've got older, I just can't handle having too many drinks. The next day I just can't cope with it, especially when I'm running.
