Time is running out if you want to sign up for our Get Running 10km course and join thousands of others who have made the decision to take the next step in their running career.
The first emails will be going out next Sunday, April 6th, with links to videos, your training plan and supporting articles to help keep you motivated and on track to complete your 10km race. The course will be supported with regular live Q&A sessions where coach Mary Jennings and other selected guests can answer your questions.
The team will also be posting to Facebook (facebook.com/
irishtimesrunning) and Twitter
during the eight- week course with tips.
You can, of course, sign up after April 6th but you won’t have the advantage of all these additional supports.
The advice from Mary Jennings is you’ll need to be able to “drag yourself around” a 30-minute run a couple of times a week before embarking on Get Running 10km. If you are not at that stage, you can also enrol in our Beginners course which will take you from inactivity to running for 30 minutes non-stop.
"If you give me eight weeks, and a commitment that you will get out the door three times each week, I'll get you up to 10k," says Jennings
, who has been busy training
people to start and stay running, with her company, ForgetThe Gym. "I'm so lucky in my job to see people achieve goals which they never imagined possible a few month previous
."
