Whyte's Important Irish Art RDS, Dublin 4 November 26th, 6pm. Lots to include Jack B Yeats, Paul Henry, Walter Osborne, William Leech, Roderic O'Conor, Norah Guinness, Basil Blackshaw and Gerard Dillon. John Weldon Auctioneers Cow's Lane Temple Bar, Dublin 8 Jewellery sale November 27th, 2pm. For those in search of a loose diamond – the Christmas season is the most popular time to propose – John Weldon is auctioning what he calls the perfect diamond; a one carat loose stone, with a HRD cert verifying its D colour – the highest colour grade possible – which is in fact colourless, is Loupe clean, meaning it has the highest clarity, is expected to fetch between €10,000 and €12,000. Christie's London Finest and Rarest Wines and Spirits November 28th-29th. Highlights include a 12-bottle case of Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, Richebourg, 1978 (€67,000–€101,000) and a bottle of the 50-year-old Japanese whiskey, Yamazaki (€168,000-€225,000).

Christie's London Handbags and Accessories 12th December
The highlight of the auction is an Hermès, Matte Himalaya Niloticus Crocodile Birkin 35 handbag, with 18 carat white gold and diamond hardware (€112,000–€168,000). Also included is a rare Louis Vuitton Explorer Trunk from 1892, expected to fetch between €67,000 and €112,000.
