Hegarty's Auctioneers in west Cork will hold a fine art and antiques auction tomorrow at 4pm in the salesroom in Bandon. The highlights include the contents of Willowbank House, Carrigaline, Co Cork.

Auctioneer Margaret Hegarty said: "Of interest to Chinese buyers are a 19th-century, 20cm-high 'spinach' jade group of birds and fruit estimated at €2,000-€4,000 and an 18th-century Chinese gilded carved panel, 25cm long, possibly originally from a screen, estimated at €800-€1,200."

Among an extensive selection of antique furniture are a Regency Cork mahogany foldover tea table (€2,000-€3,000); Irish Georgian mahogany linen press €2,000-€4,000; and an Irish 19th-century walnut Ladies’ workbox €1,500-€2,500.

The auction also features 18th- and 19th-century Irish and English silver, jewellery and porcelain.
