Luke Mullan & Farrah Kelleher
Both travel agents with Trailfinders, Farrah and Luke met through work in 2013 and got engaged on December 3rd, 2015.
“It was a pretty eventful week for the Kelleher family,” says Farrah, from Kildare town. “My sister gave birth to her first baby Marni on the 1st, my mother turned 60 on the 2nd and we got engaged on the 3rd.”
On July 22nd, 2016, surrounded by their immediate families, Luke and Farrah married in the Dublin registry office.
Following the ceremony they had celebratory drinks in The Old Spot on Bath Avenue and a meal that evening in Osteria Lucia.
Two days later, on Sunday, the newlyweds invited 70 guests to join them at O’ Brien’s pub on Leeson Street where the day started off with al fresco drinks.
After lunch upstairs in The Sussex restaurant, everyone walked to The Residence on St Stephen’s Green, where Luke’s father Sean delivered a short ceremony in the garden.
Both families were instrumental in the smooth running of the day.
Luke’s mother Ana provided the artwork for the menus and his sister Melanie was the photographer on the day of the civil ceremony.
“My mother, was always on call for dress shopping and venue assessments,” says Farrah, whose parents are Monica and Paschal. “She prepared my [Ted Baker] dresses for both days and made sure everything was in order. My sister Monique was invaluable and arranged the most amazing hen party for me . . . she and her partner Ben McGahon and their new arrival Marni offered up their home to be the hair and make-up base and for the families to meet on the Sunday morning.”
The couple agrees that “we have both found that actually saying we have a wife or husband is the strangest thing – but in the relationship itself it feels like we are secure in moving into the future together”.
